What does the growing and grinding process look like?
Tea bushes intended for matcha are specially shaded for several weeks before harvest, which increases the content of chlorophyll, caffeine and L-theanine. After harvesting, the leaves are steamed, dried and de-stemmed, then ground into a fine powder in stone mills. This traditional process preserves the full nutritional value and the characteristic flavor of matcha.

How many calories does matcha have?

Matcha is a virtually calorie-free drink. One serving (approx. 2 g of powder) contains on average just 3 calories, which makes it a great choice even on a weight-loss diet. How much matcha can you drink a day?
