How to use bombilla correctly

Have you ever had small fragments of dried herb get through your bombilla while drinking yerba ? In our new article, we will present techniques that will help prevent dust from getting through the straw, and thus allow you to consume the infusion with pure pleasure.

How to deal with bombilla?

Our daily drinking of holly infusion may sometimes be interrupted by a clogging straw or dust getting through the filter. The reason for such situations is usually the small weight of the dried herb, which indicates the highest quality of the dried herb. First of all, before pouring the material, shake the package with the dried herb. The next step, which should make filtering the straw easier, is to place it under the herb and do not stir the infusion with it, this will make it more difficult for the grounds to get inside the tube. Another piece of advice is that you should not pull the yerba mate through the straw too hard, as too much resistance may cause the bombilla to clog.

How to drink yerba mate properly ?

First, pour the appropriate amount of dried herb into the matero – it is recommended to start with a slightly smaller amount to get a feel for the taste. Then cover the opening of the container with your hand and shake it several times so that the lighter particles and dust are on your hand. The herb should be shaped into the so-called mound, i.e. arrange the herbs diagonally at an angle of 45° so that on one side it reaches the very top of the vessel and on the other side it exposes its bottom. Pour a small amount of water, approximately 30-50 ml, into the free space so that the dry media absorbs all of it. Then we place the bombilla straw under the herbs so that it remains stable. The last step is to pour the herb with water at a temperature of about 70-80 degrees Celsius. Water should be poured slowly and not too suddenly. It is worth remembering that after putting the straw under the damp herb, it should not be taken out. This is recommended because the herb will separate during mixing and may clog the bombilla, which will not help you enjoy yerba mate. However, if the dust bothers us a lot, we can pour the whole thing through a strainer.

Which bombilla (straw) should I choose?

It often happens that even if all precautions are taken, the pipe will get clogged anyway. This problem may occur when we have an incorrectly selected bombilla . In our opinion, the best straw for yerba mate is a bombilla – a spoon with good filtration that prevents frequent clogging. You will find this type of bombilla in our offer, we are sure that it will make drinking your favorite Yerbador infusion much easier .
